The DH 88 Comet first flew in 1934 it was designed to compete in the England Australia air race. G-ACSS named “Grosvenor House” won and has been restored to its original colours by the Shuttleworth Collection. Another Comet, “Black Magic” which also competed in the race is also being restored. The remaining 3 of the 5 built are believed destroyed. There is also a replica of G-ACSS flying in the USA and apparently another replica under construction in New Zealand.
The model has a 52” (132cm) wingspan the prototypes weighing in at around 47ozs all up.
The origional models flew on 2 X speed 400 electric motors with 1 X 7 cell 2000 battery pack. This provides ample power but the airframe will accept  equivalent motor and battery combinations such as :-
Overlander Thumper 2836/08 1120kv with 2 x 20 amp esc or 1 x 40 amp esc, 4s Lipo, 9.5 x 6 Propellor.
The kit includes foam veneered wings and ailerons. 3 part vac formed nacelles, top fuselage deck, nose cone, servo boxes, clear canopy, dummy exhaust moulding's and hardware pack. Most parts are Laser cut or pre-shaped.
